Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My Vizsla mix Benny has been by my side since 2016, sharing not only many everyday situations but also my passion for dog training. Through him, I discovered dummy training and came across positive reinforcement training through fairtrain—an approach that immediately convinced me and has had a lasting impact on my understanding of working with dogs.

Over time, I developed a desire to gain a deeper understanding of the theoretical background of learning behavior and communication between humans and dogs. With Mumi's support, I decided to train as a dog trainer. Today, I am an IBH-licensed dummy trainer and have completed my training as a dog trainer at ATN. At fairtrain, I place particular emphasis on respectful, clear, and motivating interaction with humans and dogs—both in training and in everyday life.

In addition to my work as a dog trainer, I have been managing the Swiss Finance Museum in Zurich since December 2016. In addition to the classic tasks of corporate management—from budget planning and employee management to cooperation and strategic orientation—my focus is on the further development of the museum's content. This includes designing new exhibitions, promoting financial education for children, young people, and adults, and expanding digital formats to attract visitors and impart knowledge.

Previously, I worked in the financial sector for almost ten years, most recently as Head of Marketing and Public Relations at the global index provider STOXX Ltd. I studied humanities and politics at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt and Sacramento State University in California, and I hold an MBA in International Communications from Quadriga University in Berlin.

Mumi Schenk-ILL

With many years of experience managing international customer service teams and a solid education from a management school, I now build on strong leadership skills as the owner and managing director of Hundeschule fairtrain GmbH. Goal-oriented work — even under pressure — is a given for me.

Working with diverse human-dog teams is a welcome challenge. My analytical and solution-focused thinking, combined with great patience and passion for both dogs and their humans, forms the foundation of my behavior consultations, individual coaching sessions, and group trainings.

Dogs from animal shelters are especially close to my heart. That is why I regularly volunteer for a large Swiss animal welfare organization and support various shelters abroad once a year. My work as a trainer with shelter dogs requires extensive knowledge, empathy, and experience — qualities I have developed through years of practice.

Currently, I am undergoing training in canine gait analysis as well as advanced studies in behavior counseling.

With our own shelter dog, we are still working on basic training, reducing arousal outdoors, and addressing his challenges with men and children.
