Workshop Lunging

Workshop mit Jenny - Samstag, 18.05.2024 - 9-16Uhr

The origin of lunging for dogs is not clear. It may be derived from equestrian sports, or from work with herding dogs. However, it is safe to say that it is a versatile and exciting activity for dog and human teams.
When lunging, the dogs learn to walk around a circle while the human stands in the center of the circle. Signals are given from a distance, which the dog carries out accordingly. In the course of the training, elements from various sports, such as agility, tricks, retrieving, etc. can be developed. Many of the signals, such as the stop at a distance, targets etc. are also helpful signals in everyday life.
Distance work as well as physical and mental exercise are practiced and the dog's attention to the human is trained. Lunging is suitable for all dogs, as it can be adapted to the respective dog type, age and character.
The taster course teaches the first basics of lunging and gives an insight into the variety of this activity. The aim is to give the human-dog teams the opportunity to try out the practical aspects and get a taste of the world of lunging. The course has a two-part structure with one session in the morning and one in the afternoon.

I decided to train as a dog trainer with the ATN in order to be optimally prepared for having my own dog.

During my training, I realized that I really enjoy working with dog and human teams and would like to develop further in this area.
I therefore started looking for a dog training school to gain more experience and came across fairtrain.

From June 2023, I was allowed to complete an internship in which I was gradually introduced to teaching in groups and was able to gain a lot of practical experience.

I have now been part of the fairtrain team since March 2024.

In addition to the regular courses, I particularly enjoy lunging dogs, as this is a versatile activity that is suitable for all dogs and strengthens the bond between the human-dog team.

I am currently training as a canine physiotherapist and canine osteopath.

It is important to me to constantly improve in my work and to develop myself further with various further training courses and practical experience and to constantly expand my level of knowledge.
